Sinus surgery is typically reserved for failure of medical treatment (antibiotics, allergy therapy, etc.) to resolve chronic or recurrent symptoms. Before, sinus surgery, your doctor will usually obtain a CT scan of the sinuses and perform a nasal endoscopy to determine which procedures should be performed and tailor the techniques to the individual characteristics of the patient's findings.
